What characteristics should isometric machines have for isolated training?

To ensure maximum effectiveness, selective strength training must respect human physiology. Only tools with advanced biomechanics allow for the isolation and strengthening of specific muscles or areas of the body to improve volume, aesthetics, and proportions, as required in bodybuilding, for example. Similarly, advanced tools are required to strengthen and improve the functionality of individual muscles in specific athlete preparation or injury recovery.

The ideal machine for training muscles in isolation must have very specific characteristics: it must adapt to the user, ensure safety, and offer maximum freedom of movement. In other words, it must have excellent biomechanics. Only the most advanced tools allow for the development of more correct and effective training, inspired and guided by scientific research.

Technological innovation applied to Teca selectorized machines

Teca selectorized equipment uses cutting-edge devices and technologies to precisely target each muscle, enhance athletic performance, or support functional recovery.

• SAC® (Self Adaptive Control®) allows the equipment to self-adapt to the user and guide them in every phase of the movement. The SAC technology allows the user to adjust their position on the equipment to achieve correct alignment of the joint involved in the exercise. This improves stability and reduces joint stress, crucial aspects for correct and safe exercise even with high loads. Thanks to SAC technology, Teca selectorized machines allow the user to start the exercise from a pre-stretching condition that most selectorized machines on the market do not allow.

• MME (Multiple Movement of Exercises), available on Teca equipment, offers additional biomechanical and physiological advantages that traditional isotonic machines lack. This technology multiplies the possibility of multi-planar trajectories and multi-joint exercises, with the advantage of obtaining a multitude of exercises on the same equipment. In Teca’s vision, localized muscle reinforcement with overload must be performed from a functional perspective to allow anyone, even with limited joint mobility, to always train at their best and in total safety.

• VAP® (Variable Altitude Pantograph®), an exclusive lever system called “variable altitude pantograph,” available on backrests and platforms, reduces stress on joints, tendons, and the spine even under high loads, and has been adopted on several Teca selectorized strength equipment. Through the VAP device, compressions on the foot, knee, and lumbar tract are reduced. The world’s first machine with a pantograph system, the Advanced Hack Squat, allows safe, easy, and particularly effective training of the lower body muscles, with greater stability and reduced joint stress compared to free weights exercise.

But training safely also means training in full respect of joint physiology.

• ROM limiter, a safety device included in over twenty Teca selectorized strength equipment, limits the range of joint motion to reduce trauma and injuries that could occur in uncontrolled ROM exercises.
