Sedentary lifestyle is the new epidemic of the century. Global strength training can combat it.

🕛 < 1 mins

Although physical activity has a strong impact on health, longevity and quality of life, inactive people are steadily increasing. Sedentary lifestyle leads to true mobility regression, i.e. a progressive loss of functional capacities of muscles and organs. The whole body suffers, one becomes weak and fragile.

To slow the epidemic of sedentariness, the EU, WHO and national governments encourage increased levels of physical activity, with a focus on muscle strengthening. However, training individual muscles is not enough. Isolation training builds strong muscles, but strengthening individual muscles is not functional for everyday life, health and longevity.

Isolation exercises focus on individual muscles and primarily seek an aesthetic outcome. But they come at the cost of isolating individual muscles in forced exercises. Since every daily activity requires strength, the physical efficiency of the body as a whole must be improved in order to live better and longer.

Developing physical efficiency means being able to perform movements and activities requiring power without fatigue and is associated with a low risk of developing early diseases associated with physical inactivity.

Based on current scientific evidence, in order to achieve these goals of physical fitness, health and longevity, it is necessary to train the human body as a whole, as a system, with global strength exercises in a kinetic chain and not as individual muscles disassociated from each other. The most natural way to do this is in a standing position.

In recent decades, Teca has followed the evolution of scientific research and new market demands, developing the first global strength machine that trains the entire body with functional, multi-joint exercises in a standing position.
